Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages was founded by the sisters of the Roman Union of the Order of St. Ursula in 1966.

It was named in honor of Wenzao Lo. the first Chinese Bishop. Wenzao is known for its commitment to excellence in foreign languages teaching and research.
With its motto, “Revere the divine, love the human.” Sharing with that of all Ursuline schools, “Serviam” (I will serve), Wenzao hopes to develop students spiritually as well as to prepare them for success in this highly demanding and competitive world. The College expects all Wenzaorians to acquire competent knowledge and useful skills inspired by Life, Language, and Leadership.
The College has established and maintains pleasant and collaborative relations with 84 universities and institutions from 19 countries in Asia, America, Europe and Australia. Collaboration between Wenzao and the foreign universities and institutions covers various areas such as exchange of students and faculty, study visits, and research teaching collaboration.
To enhance the employability of our students, Wenzao offers them career consultations and a digitized course map to help them choose suitable courses for their future careers as well as to develop their abilities , interests and experiences. Collaboration with industry is also emphasized so as to provide opportunities of internship for the students and to bridge the gap between the academe and the world of reality.
